The Prophecy concerning The Golden Gate of  Jerusalem                                                                                    

 

     

                       

 

We see the beautiful pictures of the Golden Gate and the Dome of the Rock in the back ground. In 1974 or 1975  approx. 40 yrs. ago, while studying the Bible I came across a picture of the Golden Gate in Jerusalem. I then remembered Ezekiel chps 43 and 44th about the Golden Gate and God made it clear to me that this was a beautiful prophecy that has been fulfilled.   Sadly it seems that it has been mostly, if not completely overlooked for perhaps centuries. 

I began teaching it in church, along with the other prophecies below that are associated with and supporting it.  It is a wonderful sign to all generations, including our present one.

It is a glaring example of the accuracy and literal fulfillment of Gods Holy Word to the generations of mankind on this earth.  One lady in church said to me "You don't really believe that do you? ".  I was remiss by ignoring and not answering her question, but was tempted to reply;  If I didn't believe it I wouldn't be teaching it.

 

Too many churches, seminaries and bible colleges over the years have neglected prophecy and graduated ministers without much knowledge in this area.  If they don't understand it they won't be teaching it.  Most of the seminaries teach replacement theology.

 

They  believe God is finished with Israel.  That is a mistaken theology.  They are taught that the promises that God made to Israel have been revoked and the Church has completely replaced Israel.

God still has a beautiful plan for his relatives, the Jews.

 

I am not saying that knowledge of all these things are necessary to anyone's salvation.  If you believe that Jesus Christ is the son of the living God and you have asked him into your heart to be your personal Lord and Savior; if you also have repented of your sins, been baptized and born again, then you can rest assured that you are saved.  You then are a child of his no matter what your age is.

 

But the Bible, the word of God, is so beautiful, fascinating and interesting that to not be hungry for more and more understanding is like walking through the world and never stopping to smell the roses or watch a beautiful sunset.   Do you really want to get into the word, or are you content with just helpful hints or little 'sermonetts' ?

The apostle Paul states that we should desire the sincere milk of the word (that is the beginning principles of the faith, how to be born again, and other fundamentals).  A baby is fed with milk, but as it grows it graduates to meat.  He goes on to say that milk is as far as some people get, but they should go on to desire the meat of the word or a deeper knowledge of God and his word.  If we don't grow we become weak. The Bible further exhorts us to study to show ourselves approved, a workman that does not need to be ashamed but rightly dividing the word of God. 

You will see in this lesson below that Israel will be redeemed by their Messiah Jesus.  Many thousands of Jews in the last few years have been  coming to Jesus.   God has been using Jewish Voice Ministries and other similar groups.   Jewish Voice Ministries, linked on this web site, has been  reaching out to their brethren and have been seeing large numbers accepting Jesus. 

 

There are now many Jewish Messianic congregations in different countries.  They still meet on Saturdays the 7th day of the week.  God told Jews to keep the Sabbath throughout all of their generations.  They have not had a temple or animal sacrifice since 70 AD.  This is because they didn't accept Jesus as their Messiah.  The ones who now accept him, recognize he is the true lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world, and animal sacrifices are no longer needed.  They now meet on the Sabbath to worship him and joyfully recognize that he is their promised Messiah.

Romans 11 chp. explains that Jews will turn to Jesus in the last days.  

 .

 

World leaders are trying to patch things together and bring about peace.

Yet the Bible teaches that there will be no peace until the Prince of Peace (Jesus) comes to put down all governments of this world.

He will set up his 1000 year reign here on earth.  He will then rule from Jerusalem the capitol city of the earth.

 

He will govern with perfect peace, wisdom and power.  At that time the lion will lie down with the lamb.

Until then there will be more wars.  Men and so called peacemakers should be careful, for God has said he will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone and whosoever troubles himself with it will be cut off. (destroyed)

 

God gave the land of Israel to the Jews.  They are the only nation with guaranteed title for the land signed by God.  Former Prime Ministers Rabin and Sharon were  giving away the land that God gave to the Children of Israel, and they came to a bad end.  God has said that he will judge the nations by the way they treat Israel.

 

The Bible says that Israel will sign a 7 year covenant with a so called man of peace.  The antichrist.  His number will be 666.

The Bible also says they will sign a covenant with death and hell, but he will annul or cancel it.  That false man of peace will be the antichrist who, after 3 1/2 years,

will break the covenant and try to force the Jews to worship him as God.  They will refuse and he will begin a persecution of Jews.

 

Israel will then go through terrible times.  However, just before the antichrist can destroy Israel the Jews spiritual eyes will be opened and they will recognize that Jesus is the Messiah. Then they will turn to him and he will come with the armies of heaven and destroy all the governments of this world.  He will then set up his kingdom and reign over the whole earth.  The environment will be restored to its original pristine beauty.

 

The people that accepted Jesus Christ and were born again would have been raptured

(taken up to heaven) 7 yrs. before and obtained immortal life in new heavenly bodies.

We will be forever young and rule and reign with Jesus for a thousand years here on earth.  Please see the 19th and 20th chps of Revelations.

 

After the 1000 yr. reign of Christ here on earth, all those who have been saved, born again, and ruled with him here on earth during that time, will then enter into the

Jesus warned in the 24th chp of Matthew that there would be many signs of his coming.  In verse 7  it states that nation shall rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom;

and there shall be famines and pestilences and earthquakes in different places.

 

verse 8 These are the beginning of sorrows.  In another place one of the signs mentioned is the sea and waves roaring. (example the tsunami and also the recent reports of unusual huge waves at sea). 

These are some of the signs of the nearness of the Coming of The Lord.

 

 

                  Now for a specific and interesting Item

 

The Golden Gate in Jerusalem, (that can still be seen by anyone visiting that city) is in the walls of Jerusalem

 

It and the walls were rebuilt by Nehemiah and the children of Israel in 443 BC.

This was after the Babylonian captivity and the Jews had returned home.

They were still standing at the time of Christ and are still standing today.

The temple inside the city was destroyed by the Romans under general Titus in 70 AD.

Jesus prophesied the destruction of the temple to his disciples when he said in Matthew 24th chp that not one stone would be left on another.  That was in 33 AD and just before his crucifixion that he prophesied this. 

Thirty  seven years later in in 70 AD the Romans fulfilled that prophecy when they sacked the temple and burned it.  It melted the gold of the temple and the Roman soldiers tore down the stones to get the gold that ran between them.

The temple was destroyed at that time, and to this date it has never been rebuilt. 

During the 7 year tribulation on earth, after the Christians have been taken to heaven, Israel will rebuild the tribulation temple.  More on that temple later because

there are plans in Israel by the newly formed Sanhedrin to rebuild it. 

 

Back to the subject of The Golden Gate.  It and the walls around Jerusalem are still standing.  When Jesus entered the city on Palm Sunday a week before his crucifixion, he rode on a little donkey.  He entered  through that same Golden Gate that you see pictured above. It also known as the eastern Gate.  (Please read

Mark 11) re. the triumphal entry of Jesus.  He rode on a little donkey fulfilling the prophecy that said 'behold Jerusalem your king comes to you meek and sitting upon the colt of an ass'.  The crowds went before him with palm branches.  So Jesus the Messiah full filled that scripture when he passed through the Eastern Gate.  It is still on the east side of the city facing the Mt. of Olives.  However, it has been sealed up for hundreds of years.

 

No one passes through it and haven't done so in centuries. The other gates around the city walls are open to traffic and have been for centuries.

 

(What is the significance of this?)   For the meaning of the fact that the Golden Gate has been the only one sealed up all these years, we go to  Ezekiel 43: verse's 1&2.  The angel brought Ezekiel to the gate that looketh toward the east and said behold the glory

of the God of Israel came from the way of the east and his voice was like the noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory   (Get This) the very next chp.44:2-3

This gate shall be shut, it shall not be opened, and no man shall enter in by it! because the Lord, the God of Israel has entered in by it, therefore it shall be shut.

Verse 3 it is for the Prince. Today this gate is the only one sealed up.

 

When Jesus comes back will that gate be opened by the earthquake that occurs when he appears? 

 

Zechariah 14 This tells of the day of the Lord, when all nations shall be gathered up

around Jerusalem and fighting.  Then the Lord returns.  He sets his feet upon the Mt. of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east.  This occurs when Jesus returns to rule for a 1000 yrs.

There will be a great earthquake and the Mt. of Olives will split at that time.  Please read the rest of this 14 chp of Zechariah.

 

In the 1st. chp of the book of Acts in the new testament, after Jesus arose from the dead and after he had been seen on several occasions by many of his disciples, he ascended back to heaven.

 

He did so while his disciples watched (no doubt amazed.) He ascended from top of the Mt. of Olives and, while they watched, two angels appeared to the disciples there and told them "this SAME JESUS !!!  would return in a like manner".

 

He ascended from the top of the Mt. of Olives and he will return there according to what we just studied in the old testament in the 14th chp of Zechariah. This is an example of

how the old and new testaments agree, even though they were written hundreds of years apart and by different authors who never saw or talked to each other.

 

The Bible is the accurate word of God, infallible, and every word comes to pass.

 

Pray and ask Jesus into your heart and ask for the Holy spirit to help you understand the Bible.  He will help you.  I have studied the Bible for over 35 years and love it .
